Happy New Year

Had to make an effort to wish everyone a very happy 2009. May your dreams be realised in the very best of ways.

We spent the best of times with friends - wandering out to the beach throughout the evening to see what was going on and finally going up at 11.30 to catch a bit of a concert and then see out the old year with a firework display. The new one came in a bit damply and caught us unawares with a quick shower as we walked home to bed!

This morning we took advantage of being at The Mount and after breakfast in one of the local cafes, walked round the mount and enjoyed the hot day.

The afternoon was more restful although I did manage a little gardening and am now moved to clean the car so I can dare to venture out in it in this sparkly clean new year!

We send you love wherever you are and hope that you enjoyed your celebrations as much as we did.

A late update!

You may have been wondering where I got to after the last you heard of me was packing my bags and heading to Auckland!
Well - I did get there and back in one piece but life seems to be carrying me away from my blog with every blink of the eye.
I keep being reminded of Christmas too and yet, because our family are so far from our home, I do not feel much incentive to shop and bake and decorate!
Still - my Santa collection must soon be due for their annual airing so I may just get to that before the weekend.
Where is life leading me I hear you ask?
Well -certainly not up the garden path I can tell you - altho it did lead me out onto the driveway yesterday where I manged to get rid of most of the rest of the weeds and sweep and tidy and make everything just lovely again. Then the heavens were allowed to send some cleansing raindrops to take away the last of the bits I had missed - so all looks nice and pristine again, if not rather wet!
I am thinking on my feet to try and explain my absence from here - but can't seem to recall any really good reason. There have been people come and go, yoga classes, walks along the beach, making up notes and working on the latest newsletter for the NZ BodyTalk association - but that does not account for all the weeks that have intervened.
Oh well - obviously not important!
We did go out a couple of Thursdays ago and become NZ citizens! We duly swore our allegiance to the Queen and were presented with a certificate and are now able to apply for a NZ passport - so all is good! This does not mean that we have to reliquish our UK citizenship, but cannot now be tossed out of New Zealand for any reason.
Alan has been busy organising our next trip away and we are due to leave here at the beginning of March and return about 20 April. Bella will be looked after as we are having home exchangers in our house for all that time - so that is a relief.
We are planning to spend our Christmas with neighbours and were discussing and planning over the last weekend. Today I did make a start on some of the necessary purchases - like Turkish Delight and chocolates - so we are alright now!
The Turkey has been ordered and I do not need to collect it until Christmas week so that will save some space in the freezer!

That will do again for this time - maybe I will be back sooner so do watch this space. I seem to be unable to move the photos around so just to let you know - one is of Bella on the back of my chair and the other is the pair of us on our way to our Citizenship ceremony - complete with our stuffed kiwi (a gift from friends!)

See you all again soon!

Busy Week

Hi All

Have had a busy week after a full-on weekend in Auckland re-doing one of the BodyTalk modules. Am heading back there tomorrow so thought I would touch base first to say hello!

Went to the 2nd day of my face reading course yesterday and discovered that my square, flat forehead means I will constantly research things and then share my knowledge - so no surprises there then!It also indicates that I get very focussed on a new project, to the exclusion of everything else -but just as readily get bored and start something else!

Also learned how to assess how people best learn - either by visuals, auditory or kinesthetically. All you need to do is look at their eyes, ears and nose and the feature that is largest indicates which of the above is their preferred method. Clever or what?

I am now trying to organise a weekend course in Self development/psychic ability following the trip to Morrinsville a couple of weeks ago. Looks like early January for that one so just watch this space!

Also found time to go to my walking group today and to a super yoga class on Tuesday where we were doing shoulder stands and ended up in a ] position with arms and legs straight out over our head - now THAT was super and gave me a real 'feel good' factor!

The car has been in for a very expensive service as the transmission (or something) had to be done and 2 tyres had to be replaced! - not nice! Still, all set for another few thousand kilometres so we should be Ok for a month or three.

We are currently enjoying lots of the new season asparagus and lots of new potatoes. - nothing more from our veggie patch as yet but it won't be long as there is one cabbage that is ripe for cutting and the broccoli heads are growing daily. 4 of the tomato plants are flowering and putting forth fruits so it is all very rewarding to see.

The lawn got mowed this week too - I did it before tea yesterday and Alan did the borders - so it is looking good especially now the new grass seed has sprouted and filled in all the bald patches where I overzealously tried to rid us if some invasive grass and weeds last year!

Well, time for bed now so will away. New client coming in the morning before I head up to Auckland and I have yet to pack my things and get organised.

Hugs to all and looking forward to seeing you all again on Monday!

Face Reading wonders

Well, it has certainly been an eventful day and one of great adventure as I start to learn yet another new skill!

This morning it was the start of a 6 week Face Reading Course and 10 of us assembled to learn the basics of this art.
I have learned the significance of the area of the face that is the largest in any person and the meaning behind having a wide or a long face. Even the texture of the hair and skin is significant.

More knowledge will obviously be added at each lesson, so next time I meet you be prepared for me to feel your hair and touch your skin as well as stare for a while into your face, noting particularly your ears and eyes!
It is great fun and the 3 hours of the course just flew by.

Spent part of the afternoon making biscuits to take to the course in Auckland over the weekend - almond macaroons and crunchy buttery oat biscuits. - Sadly all too few of the latter as they are just delicious and benefitted from the addition of the 3 yolks remaining from the macaroons!

The photo this time was the shadow of the plane I returned to UK on in 2005. When I saw that view out of the plane window
I felt it was evidence of the angels being with me - encasing the plane in a halo of rainbow colours.

Monday..... nearly over!

Hello folks

This is only going to be brief as it is now my quiet time before my witching hour!

Had a long and peaceful sort of a day and didn't achieve much really. The bed got changed and the laundry got washed and dried, I wrote the report on my research study - with very surprising comparisons on the questionnaires the mothers filled out pre and post study, did a couple of BodyTalk sessions, had a lovely walk with Alan late afternoon and then concocted a delicious tea! - for those with any interest we had a veggie risotto - with red asparagus, red pepper served with pecorino filled mushrooms! - and it was as yummy as it sounds!

Have just finished a conference call for the NZ BodyTalk Assoc committee and am now thinking I should go and have a read before bed.

It will be yoga in the morning followed by lunch with a friend and then I will be slowly counting down to the weekend when I head to Auckland to remonitor another BT course. I have been co-ordinating this one so have to go and make sure I got it right!

For a photo today I will send one of Alex Gray's amazing pictures - just because I can!

See you tomorrow maybe.

Sunday musings - before getting on with my day!

Ooh I am excited!

Friends and family are starting to log in as followers of my blog!

That does rather put the onus on me to put something worth reading then to make it worth their while logging on! Will be glad when Alan DOES come on board and start to add a few comments of his own and then I won't have SUCH a responsibility!

Had a really interesting evening in Morrinsville last night. First a lady did some 'healing' sessions for people in the audience - very interesting 'energy healing'. Now BodyTalk is Energy Medicine but people calling themselves 'healers' does not sit so well with me as all the practitioner is doing is enabling the clients own body to heal itself - which is just what it is programmed to do!

Anyway, I will step down from that soap box now and carry on with the report of last night.

There were about 5 people chosen to have a session and each responded positively to the experience. Then, as is de rigeur in NZ, we had to have a refreshment break - and one could get a hot beverage and home made cake - lovely brownies and a ginger bread - worth going just for that!!

Then the lady with psychic skills had her turn and very accurately gave messages to certain people in the audience. There were quite a few open mouths I can tell you! She does weekend courses in how to develop ones psychic skills - so THAT could prove interesting!

Neither I nor my friends were selected for a 'healing' or a message - but we were all quite entertained and it gave us plenty to talk about on the rainy miserable drive back to Tauranga.

Today has started with lots of phone calls and catch up with family members in UK. One of the calls was from Katy - who was sat in a cafe in Greenwich with our old next door neighbour - and we spoke for free on Katy's mobile phone - using Skype! The wonders of modern technology! It does not even bear thinking about how it all works- the brain would addle!

And so............... it must now surely be time to shower and start my day properly so I will away to do just that. Thought this wonderful photo would help to put your world a little more into perspective.

Taken from the Hubble Telescope - it shows just the brightest star in the Milky way in 2002

What splendour.

Saturday afternoon....

Having a lazyish sort of day again today!

Went out early to the Farmers market where I picked up all sorts of lovely veggies and German bread, sheeps cheese, strawberries and some lettuce plants that Alan has not yet found seeds for!

On then to do a BodyTalk session for someone followed by an excursion to look for a box to put out on the patio to store the chair cushions. - No joy there so have suggested to Alan that h
e might like to make one! - Will see if it takes as long as my bird table - which I requested at least 6 mths ago and has still failed to materialise!

Now I have tidied my desk and sorted all sorts of papers and am off to plant the lettuce plants and then have an early tea as I am off out to a Clairvoyant evening later! - That will be interesting! At least I have good company on the way as a couple of friends are coming with me and we have to go over the hill towards the west coast - on the plain of the photo posted a couple of days ago - at least it will be easier to cross the hill tonight than it was on foot on Monday!

Have noted friend Hilary's comments and hope Alan will contribute to the blog as the weeks progress. He will have a completely different perspective on things so it will be interesting!
No special photo today so thought you might like to see the cat!
